Alcohol Awareness Week
3-9 July 2023
Alcohol Awareness Week is organised by Alcohol Change UK. Its aim is to get the nation talking about the effects of drinking too much alcohol.
This year’s theme is ‘Alcohol and Cost’.
Many reports identify alcohol awareness as ‘an integral part’ of educating students, which is why we are releasing a unit from our Alcohol Awareness course free-of-charge which focusses on teaching the ‘Different Types & Strengths of Alcohol’.
‘Different Types and Strengths of Alcohol’
In relation to this initiative, ‘Different Types and Strengths of Alcohol’ is available for use cross-college and for CPD. The module introduces learners to the following:
What alcohol is and how it's made
Different alcoholic drinks
The strength of different types of alcoholic drinks
How to work out the strength of different drinks.
The module has ‘off-the-shelf’ content, and software marks multiple choice tests at the end of each module, thus no preparation, no teaching and no marking is required. Each module requires 20-25mins to complete. Measurable outcomes mean SMT and Ofsted reports can be generated automatically.

New for 2023/24: Capital 42-day Kickstart
Capital 42-day Kickstart helps FE colleges retain students at the beginning of the academic year. This is particularly important for students from disadvantaged backgrounds, as they are more likely to withdraw but could benefit most from further education.
