FOOD SAFETY is designed to give the learner knowledge and understanding of the principles of keeping food safe. The course introduces the learner to key issues in Food Safety, taking responsibility for their own food safety and hygiene, keeping work areas clean and keeping food safe.

CIEH Replacement
AIM L2 Food Safety in Catering (Ofqual No. 600/8219/7) may be used as a replacement for CIEH L2 Award in Food Safety in Catering (500/5476/4).
Fast-track centre approval is in place for transfer of provision to AIM.
L2 Food Safety in Catering
The achievement of the L2 Food Safety qualification is the accepted standard for workers in cafes, restaurants and food outlets. Additionally, the eLearning course covers all the requirements of AIM Awards L2 Food Safety in Catering (Ofqual No. 600/8219/7).
Recognition
The course satisfies Ofsted EIF §201 requirements for ‘online learning’ and the FELTAG guidelines of ‘self-directed, independent, interactive eLearning’.
Additionally, the course is in line with EU Regulation 852/2004 Hygiene for Foodstuffs which requires that those who handle food are supervised, instructed and trained in Food Hygiene in a way that is appropriate to the work they do.

All AIM qualifications with eLearning attract government funding.
AIM XAMS Platform & Final Online Assessment.
Once learners have completed all eLearning modules and have successfully passed the mock assessment, which may be taken more than once, they should be scheduled for an externally set, externally marked online Multiple-Choice Question (MCQ) exam. The online multiple-choice exam, accessed via AIM XAMS platform, must be invigilated by an AIM approved invigilator.
